This was a cute motel with a comfy bed & a large room with everything we needed. They even left us some hard cider to celebrate our anniversary & smores fixins for a treat! Great location. We really enjoyed our stay here.

Unique and interesting rooms. Heating and cooling system is good despite no room control. Bed was very comfortable and shower works well. Some traffic noise especially early morning. Easy access to Treman State Park and other trails.

A newly renovated motel thats just a short drive from downtown Ithaca, the Grayhaven Motel is a charming blend of vintage character and modern comfort. The family-owned property has been lovingly restored, blending new remodel with old atheistic. Its atmosphere is welcoming, relaxed, and nostalgic; but with the conveniences today’s wanderer appreciates. The rooms are tastefully decorated with a mid-century flair, clean lines, warm wood tones, and retro touches that give the space personality. Each room is clean and thoughtfully outfitted with comfortable bedding, locally inspired artwork, and modern amenities. It’s clear the owners put care into creating a place that feels both stylish and cozy. One of the best aspects of the Grayhaven is its serene setting. Despite being only minutes from Cornell, Ithaca College, and the vibrant downtown scene, the motel feels tucked away in its own quiet corner of the Finger Lakes. Guests can relax in the outdoor spaces, wander the grounds, or enjoy a fire pit in the evening; which is highly recommended. You can buy firewood from them; 3 to 4 stacks is recommended. They also have a selection of snacks, a small menu of food, wine and beer and sodas available to buy in the main office. Main office closes at 8pm. The staff are friendly and helpful and can tel you about the surrounding area. With its unique character, peaceful setting, and personal touches, the Grayhaven Motel offers an inviting alternative to chain hotels. For visitors who appreciate charm, comfort, and a sense of place. It’s definitely a fun vibe and a good price!

Second time staying at the lovely Grayhaven Motel and will recommend to anyone staying in Ithaca looking for a cozy stay! Love the attention to detail with the s’mores kits for use at the fire pit as well as the adorable dog cookies for my hounds. Will certainly be back next time family is in town!

I have stayed here many times while visiting Ithaca and have always had a great experience. The motel has a cool retro vibe with several different styles of rooms available in the 3 buildings. The rooms have all been renovated and are in great condition. The property is lovely with gorgeous flower beds all around and a nice view of the natural area and creek from the back side of the property. It is very conveniently located to both Buttermilk Falls and Treman State Parks - located halfway in between about 1 mile from the entrance of each park. Its about a 10 minute drive into Ithaca. Most of the rooms allow pets. The property has a large trail network where you can take your dog for long walks. They serve a light breakfast of organic granola and yogurt each morning in the main house, which also exhibits art by local artists for sale. The only downside is a little road noise at times from Rt 13 out front.

We were blown away by this charming “motel”! It’s so much more than a motel and we’d rather stay here than some of those other fancy hotels!! The staff were very welcoming and helpful, and the setting is picturesque with beautiful flower gardens, and outdoor patio overlooking a stream and woodland area in the back. Walking into our room, we were pleasantly surprised to see a doggy water bowl and cookie for our dog as well as his own towel! They thought of everything - even an extra sheet (with DOG written on it) to put on bed as a cover. The other “special” treats which were provided were all the makings for s’mores and fire starters to use in the fire pits on the grounds! I mean, WOW!! The room was super clean, the bed was comfortable and outside our picture windows were bird feeders! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back! Hope to see the proposed art gallery next time!

My wife and I went on a “waterfalls hiking” getaway. The Grayhaven was perfectly situated for access to an abundance of incredible hikes. The staff was so friendly and eager to make us comfortable. The room was immaculate and perfect for our needs. We will definitely return!! Also be sure to eat at the Yellow Deli in Ithaca. You will not be disappointed.

Wow the name “motel” really does not do this place justice! I stayed in a cottage room and it was very effective at cooling and heating and keeping out critters. Quirky room layouts but it’s comfortable with two or three people. The modest breakfast selection was excellent, the local cherry pie (which you have to order a day in advance) was to die for. I’m so glad we got two of them. Lastly I felt so welcomed by the hospitality shown at Grayhaven!! Jessica in particular made us feel so at home here. We’ll definitely be coming back!

Husband, dog and I really enjoyed our stay at Greyhaven. They had all the things my pup needed in the room ready for him and having a fenced dog run was much nicer than walking him in the limited grass of a hotel parking lot like usual. Mid century modern furniture and giant window with birds constantly at the feeder made it super cozy. Location is excellent. 10/10 would recommend for anyone traveling with their pup.

Our stay at the Grayhaven was really wonderful. The room was tasteful and beautifully decorated with period furniture. It was also very clean and bed was super comfortable. The staff was very helpful and kind. Coffee and simple breakfast options were delicious. Location is great too. We would love to return.
